API's updated TCS-II channel strip sustains the beloved tradition of API console sound built into the original TCS, with a number of improvements that brings this powerful sound processor into harmony with the modern API environment. Combining a flexible high-gain preamp, distinctive API compressor, 3-band equalizer, and line driver, the TCS-II delivers the classic punch and color of API for processing any mic, instrument, or line level source.
The TCS-II begins with API's lauded 512c preamplifier, with up to 65dB of clean gain for bringing any source into your mix. API has updated the preamp section to include clearer input controls and a handy LED for peak metering. Dynamics are processed by the updated 527a compressor with 10-segment LED meter, featuring flexible options for signal routing, compressor type, hard and soft knee response, and the patented Thrust circuit for that classic API punch.
Take your tone shaping even further with the legendary 550a 3-band EQ, bringing Saul Walker's revered 1960s circuit into the modern age. This versatile spectra-sculptor allows for setting both target frequency and boosts or cuts via its intuitive dual concentric potentiometers, and boasts +30dB of headroom thanks to API's proprietary 2520 op amps. Finally, an updated 325 Line Driver adds the final touches of gain to your channel, with a newly added pointer for clear visual feedback of knob position.
Giving you total control of your signal flow, the TCS-II features a flexible patching interface on its back panel for inserting effects or rerouting the modules of the unit itself.
