Description

Quick look at Neumann's KH 120 II:

The Neumann KH 120 II is a high-precision nearfield studio monitor designed for uncompromising accuracy, making it a go-to choice for mixing, mastering, and critical listening. With next-generation DSP processing, it delivers linear-phase crossovers, room-adaptive alignment via Neumann’s MA 1 Automatic Alignment system, and an extended bass response, improving on its acclaimed predecessor. Powered by a 145W amplifier for the 5.25” woofer and a 100W amp for the 1” titanium-fabric tweeter, the KH 120 II produces crystal-clear highs, detailed mids, and solid low-end performance. The Mathematically Modeled Dispersion (MMD) waveguide ensures a broad sweet spot and precise stereo imaging, allowing engineers to make accurate mix decisions with confidence. Built with Neumann’s legendary precision and durability, the KH 120 II is an essential reference monitor for professional studios worldwide.

Neumann KH 120 II Studio Monitor Features:

  • Linear frequency response: 44 Hz - 21 kHz (±3 dB)
  • Linear phase response: 120 Hz - 16 kHz (±45°) with latency <2.6 ms
  • DSP engine for improved performance and automatic room alignment
  • Deep low end down to 44 Hz and high SPL capability in a small format
  • Analog and S/PDIF connectivity
  • High-precision drivers, Mathematically Modelled Dispersion (MMD) waveguide
  • Razor sharp imaging due to extremely low tolerances (±0.5 dB)
  • May be combined with other KH line speakers in immersive or surround setups

Following in the footsteps of its predecessor, the Neumann KH 120 II Two-Way Active Studio Monitor has been engineered and optimized to provide exceptionally linear performance, low distortion, and adaptability to any acoustic environment. With a powerful onboard DSP engine powering it’s crossover system and automatic calibration, the KH 120 II allows you to hear your tracks with even greater clarity, work more efficiently, and create mixes that translate optimally to all playback systems. The monitor’s small footprint makes it a superb choice for home and project studios as well as large multichannel monitor systems.

PRISTINE SOUND
The KH 120 II’s 5.25-inch woofer and 1-inch dome tweeter deliver incredibly linear frequency response with a ±3 dB tolerance from 44 Hz to 21 kHz, giving you consistent, transparent sound across the vast majority of the audible spectrum. The sophisticated DSP-controlled crossover provides linear phase performance (±45°) in the critical range from 120 Hz to 16 kHz, providing pinpoint accuracy in the time domain without comb filtering or smeared transients. These characteristics also give the KH 120 MK II superb spatial resolution and imaging in nearfield applications (3–6 feet).

ADVANCED STUDIO FEATURES
The KH 120 MK II’s DSP engine also provides Automatic Monitor Alignment, seamlessly calibrating your monitors for optimal performance for your particular room and listening position. Analog and S/DIF digital inputs make the monitor easy to integrate in any setup, and it’s small size and light weight make it ideal for small studios, large multichannel systems, and makeshift control rooms for on-location and broadcast mixing. To top it all off, it’s efficient Class D amplifier ensures superior audio performance while consuming only 17 W at idle, and auto-standby reduces power consumption to 0.3 W when not in use. The MK II improves on its predecessor in every way, making it a standout choice in the compact active monitor category.
