Description

  • The On/Bypass switch activates (On) or deactivates (Bypass) the module allowing you to quickly switch between processed and unprocessed signal
  • Signal LEDs (Sig) indicate whether an audio signal is present at the input of the respective channel (with a level higher than -20 dBu)
  • With the Range control, the frequency Range which should be processed can be selected
  • With the Stage control, the frequency range previously selected with the Range control can be moved backwards or forwards on the stereo stage
  • The huge BIGNESS control adjusts the intensity of the STEREO IMAGE SHAPING
  • The BASS/Off switch can be used to activate (BASS) or deactivate (Off) an additional bass boost following the BIGNESS section
  • The bass boost is performed by a passive filter implemented in a similar circuit to the one used in the AirBass function of the SPL IRON Mastering Compressor

  • The SPL BiG is a double-slot module for stereo stage processing. With the RANGE control, the frequency range which should be processed can be selected. Using the STAGE control, this frequency range can be moved backwards or forwards on the stereo stage. The huge BIGNESS control adjusts the intensity of the processing.

Another highlight is the BASS function, which many users already know from the SPL IRON Mastering Compressor. This bass boost is created by a passive filter, which is implemented in a similar circuit to the AirBass function of the IRON.

Also with BiG, SPL developed not only according to plan, but also by ear. All components are installed on the circuit boards using Through-hole technology, so that the best-sounding components can be used. Like all SPL devices, BiG is manufactured in the company's own production facility in Niederkrüchten on the Lower Rhine, Germany.
