Neve consoles are renowned for the vibrant richness and powerful punch they impart to your signal. The original Rupert Neve Designs RNDI packed that magic into a direct box. The RNDI-S brought it to you in stereo. And now, thanks to the RNDI-8, you can get eight channels of ear-grabbing British-flavored DI, providing instrument direct injection for electric guitars and basses, keyboards and synthesizers, acoustic piezo pickups, and other instrument-level sources. Sporting fastidiously developed custom transformers and Class A biased, discrete FET amplifiers, the RNDI-8 makes anything you plug into sound massive and amazing, yielding top-grade sound from 5Hz to far beyond 90kHz. You also get flexible per-channel ground lifts and individual -10dB pads to guarantee hum- and distortion-free operation. Moreover, its rugged steel chassis was built to withstand the rigors of studio and stage alike. If you record music or do live sound, you take signals direct all the time. You might as well invest in a killer direct box: the Rupert Neve Designs RNDI-8.

The Neve of direct boxes
The secret to the RNDI-8's gargantuan sound rests in its custom-designed transformers and Class A, discrete FET input amplifiers. The transformers not only provide isolation, but they also add musical harmonics and dimension to any signal you pass through them. What's more, these low-impedance, transformer-balanced outputs can drive super-long cable runs — a must-have feature for both studio and live applications. The RNDI-8's discrete input amplifiers are powered by 48V phantom power, and they create a high-impedance input of over 2Mohms, ensuring consistent performance with a full range of instruments. Beyond that, the amplifiers' Class A design safeguards against crossover distortion, which can inject unwanted upper-order odd harmonics into your signal. Instead, the RNDI-8 produces subtle second- and third-order harmonics for incredibly musical-sounding results.

Ultra-wide bandwidth, near-infinite headroom
For starters, you get an unprecedented frequency response that stretches from 5Hz all the way past 90kHz. And, when you factor in the harmonic excitement afforded by its custom-designed transformers, you get thunderous low frequencies along with otherworldly depth and dimension. On top of that, the RNDI-8's massive +21dBu maximum input level primes this direct box to handle everything from instruments to professional line-level sources like interfaces and drum machines. And when you factor in its per-channel -10dB pad, that number jumps to a mighty +31dBu — more than enough to tackle the highest output of DJ mixers.
