Description

The Genelec 8020.LSE StereoPak is a complete 2.1 active nearfield monitoring system ideal for use in project and pro studios. It can be used for music scenarios, broadcast, or post production. The system includes two 8020D nearfield monitors and a 7040A subwoofer for accurate audio reproduction and a frequency response down to 30 Hz. Each unit has a durable housing and offers balanced XLR connectors.

Product Features:
  • Two 8020D 4" Active Studio Monitors
  • One 7040A Subwoofer
  • Nearfield Applications in Small Spaces
  • Compact Design
  • Low Frequencies Down to 30 Hz
  • Minimum Diffraction Enclosure Technology
  • Laminar Spiral Enclosure Technology
  • Tone & Polarity Controls
The 8020D monitors feature 4" woofers and 3/4" tweeters in a Minimum Diffraction Enclosure (MDE) to tame box reflections and deliver a flat frequency response. The 7040A is a 6.5" subwoofer powered by a 50W amplifier. It has Genelec's proprietary Laminar Spiral Enclosure, which lowers noise and provides tight, consistent signal dispersion. Each unit also offers switches for tone and polarity, allowing you to optimize the system for your workspace.

(2) Genelec 8020D Studio Monitor (Producer Finish)
Styled in what the manufacturer has dubbed a "Producer Finish", and utilizing Class-D amplification, the Genelec 8020D Active Two-Way 4" Studio Monitor provides accurate reproduction of the source material in a compact form factor. Its MDE die-cast aluminum rounded shape minimizes frequency and reflection distortions caused by edge diffraction. The 19mm metal dome tweeter is surrounded by Genelec's Directivity Controlled Waveguide, which helps to create an even response when listening both on and off axis.

The 8020D is built with Intelligent Signal Sensing (ISS) technology, which automatically activates the speaker when an audio signal is detected and puts it in standby mode when no signal is present, reducing its energy consumption to less than 0.5W. The 8020D features a 50W high-frequency amplifier for its ¾" tweeter, and a 50W low-frequency amplifier for its 4" woofer. The bass response is expanded by a rear-facing reflex port, and a separately available Genelec subwoofer can be used to monitor a wider array of frequencies.

  • Attached Iso-Pod table stand insulates the speaker from vibration and enables you to tilt its position upward or downward
  • Well-suited for near-field studio monitoring, control rooms, editing suites, surround sound applications, and multimedia entertainment systems
  • Rear-facing treble-tilt, bass roll-off, and desktop cut controls enable you to optimize the speaker to its environment
  • Threaded holes for wall or ceiling brackets
  • Active crossover filter
  • Driver unit protection circuitry
  • Woofer and tweeter magnetically shielded

(1) Genelec 7040A Studio Subwoofer
Provided here in a dark gray producer finish, the Genelec 7040A Studio Subwoofer is a studio subwoofer designed to provide accurate low-frequency reproduction in limited production spaces. Its small footprint suits project studios, mobile vans, and portable recording systems.

This sub is the ideal complement to Genelec 8010A and 8020A monitors. It extends the low-frequency response down to 30 Hz, and uses Genelec's patented Laminar Spiral Enclosure (LSE) technology to provide both precise bass articulation and extended low-frequency capacity. When used in a stereo system, the sub can produce 100 dB of undistorted SPL by means of its 6.5" woofer, and its powerful Class-D amplifier.

Built-In Bass Management
Balanced XLR connectors are used for the audio inputs and outputs. There are two input connectors and two outputs. The bass-management unit in the 7040A subwoofer splits the input into low- and high-frequency components at 85 Hz. Frequencies below 85 Hz are reproduced by the subwoofer. Frequencies above 85 Hz are directed via the subwoofer's output connectors to the main monitors. The subwoofer's outputs have the same level as the inputs.

Adjustable Sensitivity
The subwoofer sensitivity can be adjusted from +12 to -6 dBu to match the subwoofer sound level easily with different monitors.

Variable Bass Roll-Off & Phase
Two BASS ROLL-OFF switches provide bass-response adjustment to compensate for the acoustical environment in three 2 dB steps. Two switches allow alignment of subwoofer phase with the monitors. The phase can be adjusted in 90-degree increments between 0 and -270°.
