The Avid S4 Control Surface is a customizable semi-modular control surface that harnesses the mixing power of the award-winning Avid S6 in a smaller, more affordable package. With an intuitive interface, an ergonomic design and hands-on control over your favorite DAW, the S4 is the perfect fit for any workflow. The S4—16-fader, 4-foot base configuration combines extensive customization options with a compact footprint, making it a perfect fit for independent mixers, small music studios and audio post production facilities.
UNMATCHED HANDS-ON CONTROL
At the center of the S4 is the Master Touch Module, which features a built-in touchscreen and several rotary encoder knobs for controlling various parameters. The Automation Module offers full transport controls with a dedicated jog wheel, a focus fader, automation control, a numeric keypad, and more. The S4—16-fader, 4-foot base configuration includes two of the newly-designed Channel Strip Modules—each of which includes eight faders and 32 knobs for navigating and adjusting parameters.
FLEXIBLE SEMI-MODULAR DESIGN
The Avid S4’s semi-modular design can be completely customized to suit your workflow. The S4—16-fader, 4-foot base configuration can be outfitted with up to four Display Modules , enabling you to make more informed mix deacons. For more tactile control, equip the S4 with up to two optional Attention Knob Modules for a total of 128 assignable top-lit knobs.
Ideal for post production facilities, the S4—16-fader, 4-foot base configuration supports up to two optional Joystick Modules for precisely placing surround sound and immersive audio elements. Quickly A/B your mix in mono, stereo and more using the PEC/DIRECT paddles on the optional Post Module.

S4 is EUCON-enabled and offers intelligent control over Pro Tools, Nuendo, Pyramix, Logic Pro, Cubase, and other audio software for faster, more efficient mixing. You can even mix tracks from two different DAWs simultaneously. And with advanced metering capabilities and visual feedback for Pro Tools waveforms, you can rest assured you’re making well-informed mix decisions.
