The Bock 507 or 5 ZERO
7 is truly a unique work of art. David Bock joined forces with George Cardas to
develop a new type of elliptical shaped capsule that addresses the in-band
resonance issues that many round capsules have. The diaphragm edges are terminated in a
“golden spiral” which allows for the vast reduction of
dimensional and dynamic duplications in the diaphragm. The elliptical shape allows the diaphragm to
be free of signal absorption, reflection and resonance issues inherent in many
large diaphragm round capsules.
section of the Bock 507 is based on a vintage style (think U 47ish). A very large four-section transformer is used
which again, allows for a very wide frequency response. Even the power supply is unique in that it is
an inductor design.
All of this results
in a very special microphone that sounds very true to source and has a touch of
vintage vibe. This microphone really needs to be heard. The 507 as well as all of the Bock
microphones look every bit as good as they sound which really adds a luster and
vibe to any room. Please contact us to schedule a demo!!
